My friend Atty is gone...
We had a wonderful life and I thank God for
bringing us together. What a dog!!!
Atty was imported from Germany from the Kirschental kennel
at 16 months. I picked him up at the Sieger Show in
Bakersfield 1997. I remember stopping at Lake Mead on the
way home and he played in the water, so happy and having so
much fun with the other dogs. It was the beginning of a
great 9 1/2 years! I could tell we
were meant to be together.
I discovered right away that Atty loved to watch TV. Funny
that his sire, Matzo, did too. You could not watch a training
video or any show with animals without him thinking he
needed to be involved...with his nose right at the screen.
Atty loved training and was an impressive dog on the
Schutzhund field; always pronounced in courage, with completely balanced drives
and yet handler responsive. After completing his titles, he
went on to help train many aspiring helpers.
Atty was very social and loved all people. His care with
children and puppies was amazing. He was a large, red,
impressive dog, with a masculine head and an expression so
magnificent....
How lucky I have been to have you in my life, Atty. You
will be missed, and fondly remembered, and that spot next to
the bed will be hard to fill. You set such an
example of what a German Shepherd should be, an absolute
reflection of the standard. You left this earth with such
dignity, strength and grace, it reflected who you were all along.
I am less without you, as you took part of me with you.
Good bye buddy.. You will be in my heart forever. I love you so much and will see you again. |
